There are endless wonderful things to be grateful for in our lives. Some are big and obvious, while others are small or discreet. We really do not have to look hard to find them; we only need to look. I’ve found that one of the best ways to do this is to start a morning gratitude routine. It will give you a wonderful mindset to start your day, and make you see the positive in every situation, which means less stress!
For starters, do not fall into the belief that you are not a morning person.
It’s quite possible you just haven’t been starting your mornings off with positive thoughts. If you understand the good in starting your day off with positive thoughts (which I believe you do) than you can devote the first 5 minutes of your day to gratitude.
Next, find the place where you can channel gratitude.
You can either lie in bed, or go to a favorite spot in your home to do this. Start to think about everything that you have around you that you appreciate. It may be the softness of your pillow or blanket, or maybe the plant in the corner of your living room. Tap into the wonderful things that exist within:
- Your home
- Your career
- Your family
- Your efforts
- Outside your window
Think about how you appreciate the way these things make you feel. There are times when the smallest, seemingly minute details, give us the biggest impact. The sun rising. A child’s smile. Things like that can create such a vibrant feeling of gratitude in us that we are almost overwhelmed. Not everything has to be complicated, and gratitude is evidence of that.
Expressing gratitude every day brings about appreciation. It’s perfect! Gratitude is a focal point on many of the things we help inspire people with at www.LeadingTheSpirit.com and you are encouraged to embrace an attitude of gratitude with us. You are always welcome.
